Gwen Fox's Blog: Where creativity unites with success

Creating in this economy

There is a lot of talk about the economy and the lack there of. How is this affecting you and your creative spirit? Do you watch the news and wonder if anyone will be able to purchase your paintings? With all the doom and gloom it is no wonder, as we enter the studio, our spirits are a little heavy.
So what can you do about this situation?
Here is what I do.   I will continue to learn, practice, paint with passion, delve into the art of Design, Color, Shapes and Edges. I will listen to tapes in my car instead of the constant barrage of negative forecast.
Sometimes it is a good idea to “get out of Dodge”. No matter where you live it is good to get away, meet new people, have different conversations. This spurs a new you….it gives you back that creative spark that has been there but trampled by others thoughts and fears.
Remember if you fear no one will purchase your art there is a good chance your thoughts will make it so.

What are your greatest fears about your art career in this economy?  Let’s have a conversation ….maybe it will help us all.

Although fear is a powerful energy, it is a weak energy for creativity. It blocks the creative energy source. It stops the messages from soul. So the question becomes-if I am living in fearful times how do I circumvent my experience from fear to love. Perhaps by changing the view of threat to opportunity. The opportunity to see new views of soul-and not just one’s own. As Gwen did at the shelter.
